This is what the patient's significant other told me while we were waiting for the patient to finish in the toilet.

"And he wondered, why in all of his coming back and forth in this country, he had not seen me sooner. And now, look at us, battling against time. And we’re losing it. I'm making lots of good memories so that someday, I have something to remember by.

Last week, we went crabbing (eat crabs), then went karaoke.

Last night we went swimming.

I'm running out of cash but I'm happy.

I think that's what matter most. So that even if I go broke, I have my memories. My irreplaceable piece of little heaven.

I am blessed in every sense and I thank the Lord for the gift of people, of friendship and laughter.

but isn't it more fulfilling if despite the fear of falling from a cliff and bruised knees, steps were taken?

this is what i realized today while i'm on my usual jeepney ride going to the review center....

life is a living dream, a real dream, some kind of dream that you never wake up to. it only shows how ethereal we are and how passing all these things that we enjoy, things that we love doing, or even things that we hate doing.

life is ironic...life is complex...

notheless, life is truly beautiful, despite confusions, indifference, struggles, ironicity and most especially its complexity...

A typhoon seldom passes the city…

There are a lot of fresh fruits and vegetables at very affordable prices (think of marilog)…
Mt. Apo is located near the city which makes it accessible to nature lovers…and lastly…
Davao City has a great mayor…who’s very vocal about his opinions and makes his constituents feel safe…

if indeed PATIENCE is... (but it's a fact anyway)

...a VIRTUE then probably most student nurses would be virtuous now. i'm not mocking the "saying" but we students nurses have been taught how to be patient especially to our patients, to our instructors and a lot of people. to be honest, i am not a very patient person. i think i have a type A personality who possesses the characteristic of time hurriedness. and also i am a virgo. by nature virgos are so impatient since the planet mercury govern their lives...but then its just a mere astrological postulate...back to being patient. i guess, i became a little patient about everything. imagine waiting for several hours in the hospital lobby waiting for your scrub nurse to come out then at the end of the day (after waiting several hours) that s/he is not around, is absent, is on-leave or whatever. whew! the agony of waiting. it keeps your mind busy thinking about the positive things but the truth is you wanna scream and hit somebody for making you wait so long. it really sucks to wait...right now, i'm on the edge of my so-called patience. i have been waiting for months now (2 months to be exact) for my forms (PRC) to be signed by the clinical coordinator. this waiting thing...it keeps me anxious all the time...there are so many silent movies in my head like i don't know what to do...in fact i made a poem about this waiting thing...here it is...

the wait

leg cramps are common,
where chairs have no vacancy.
